I'm proud to say that I've completed a fantastic first year as Digital Content Manager for Newsradio 620 WTMJ at Good Karma Brands! This experience has been invaluable. My teammates empowered me to reach for key personal & professional goals while leading our online platforms into a new era. Some highlights of this past year include:- Fulfilling my lifelong dream of reporting on the NBA as a digital multimedia journalist through written word, best-in-class audio & extensive video/social media coverage of the Milwaukee Bucks' 2022-23 & 2023-24 seasons.- Leading digital media coverage of Wisconsin's biggest stories including the state's Supreme Court election, the first Republican Presidential Debate of the 2024 election cycle, Summerfest's 55th Anniversary, a tremendous Milwaukee Brewers season & the historic American Family Field funding bill.- Elevating our online platforms by implementing editorial structures, SEO strategy, conceptualizing & installing video streaming strategy, generating tens of millions of impressions through original social & video content online.- Assuming a leadership role in our Digital Sales Operation, overseeing digital ad operations & overdelivering for WTMJ's incredible partners by working closely with our Sales & Marketing teams.- Collaborating with some of the top journalists in the Milwaukee market to generate the best possible content for our partners & fans alike.- Made regular appearances on ESPN Milwaukee discussing the NBA over the course of several months.Here's to our continued growth with some of the best teammates a guy could ask for on the WTMJ & GKB rosters! Breaking News: I have joined Good Karma Brands as the new Digital Content Manager for WTMJ radio. It’s an honor to join this group of hardworking, eager journalists at one of the longest-running media outlets in Wisconsin.Being part of a company that puts so much emphasis on its culture and values is empowering. Based out of a beautiful new facility in Downtown Milwaukee, GKB aligns with my personal and professional philosophies in a way that I didn't think was possible. For those laboring through a strenuous job search, keep pushing forward. Part of being a great #contentcreator is adapting to your audience based on its engagement and the #analytics that follow. So when I realized that #NBA fans were gearing up for the fantasy basketball season, I decided to write a story that would help them in their drafts.It was the highest-performing story during my tenure as editor for the website and ranked at the top of numerous search engines thanks to the time I spent developing #SEO components.#Fantasy sports and #gambling are more deeply embedded in the #SportsMedia space than ever. Seeing how many people engaged with this story, I wrote several more articles on the topic and similarly, they skyrocketed to the top of our charts! Now, these kinds of stories are a regular part of our content cycle, which already increased the amount of potential readers for the site while solidifying us as a reliable resource.Adapting to the needs of consumers and informing your strategy based on results make for a winning formula in this #digital space. It’s essential to be aware of all channels — whether it be social media interactions, site engagement, pageviews, search engine rankings or the amount of time people spend on your page. There are tools at your disposal to learn more about your base, expand it and build for the future!
