"Log Cabin Cooking" is a delightful multi-level-experience back in time.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this to be so much more than just a primitive cookbook. The added guidelines of pioneer etiquette, kitchen proverbs, food insults, etc... make it a delight to read, and will enlighten you as to the humorous/peculiar ways of our ancestors. Bless their hearts, they had it so hard, in those days, that they needed a little humor to maintain their sanity! The added bonus of the wonderful photos, from the 1800's, were icing on the cake! I enjoyed this little book of 64 pages so much that I immediately went on line and bought another one to give as a gift to someone that I knew would enjoy it, as much as I did. ... As the little white haired lady skimmed through her gift/book I knew I had found a treasure, for her, as she reminisced of days past, and times she had spent with her mother in the kitchen. The smile on her face, and the hug I received, as I was leaving, made it all worthwhile. So, put on your apron, get out your old cast iron cookware, and take a trip back in time as you enjoy the enlightening experience of old-time "Log Cabin Cooking".Read full review

    Great Pioneer Cookbook

Love the photos! Not only recipes from 1800's, but listed in today's ingredients. Tried a couple so far, and family loved them! Also loved the how it's on making candles, "little britches" & more! Highly recommend for anyone!
