TGL Season 2 Upgrades: Bigger Greens, New Hole Designs, and More! | PGA TOUR (2025)

Get ready for an exciting upgrade! TGL, the primetime indoor golf league, has some big news for its upcoming second season. A green revolution is coming, and it's going to change the game!

TGL, presented by SoFi, has unveiled a series of enhancements that will take the league to the next level. Let's dive into the details and explore how these changes will impact the league and its players.

First up, the GreenZone, the heart of the TGL experience, has undergone a major transformation. The putting surface has expanded significantly, increasing by a whopping 38% to cover an area of 5,270 square feet - that's almost as big as a standard PGA TOUR green! But that's not all; the number of pin locations has also increased from seven to twelve, adding more variety and challenge to each hole. And to make things even more interesting, the undulations of the putting surface have been softened, creating natural slopes that will test the skills of the golfers.

But here's where it gets controversial... One bunker has been removed, while the remaining two have been expanded by 50%. This move has sparked debate among golf enthusiasts. Some argue that it adds an element of risk and strategy, while others believe it might simplify the game. What do you think? Should TGL embrace this change or stick to a more traditional bunker setup?

The bunker faces have also received a makeover with revetted layers of turf, creating distinct vertical walls that will add a unique visual element to the course. It's a bold move, and we can't wait to see how it impacts gameplay.

In addition to the GreenZone enhancements, TGL has made several other changes to improve playability. The hitting boxes and sand trays have been enlarged, providing golfers with more space and flexibility. And get this - the bunker lips have been enlarged too, making those fairway bunker shots even more challenging!

And this is the part most people miss... Six holes from the inaugural season will be rebranded as official team holes, with localized backdrops and terrain specific to each team. It's a brilliant way to add a sense of ownership and pride for each team, and we can't wait to see the creative designs they come up with.

TGL and Full Swing have also upgraded the game engine software, promising more realistic and immersive virtual golf environments. While no new golf holes were announced this time, we can expect some exciting additions in the future.

Andrew Macaulay, Chief Technology Officer of TMRW Sports, had this to say about the enhancements: "After a successful first season, we wanted to build on that momentum and create an even more thrilling experience for our fans. These updates are designed to increase drama, intrigue, and dynamic moments, while also challenging our teams in unique ways."

So, what do you think of these changes? Are you excited for the upcoming season of TGL? Join the conversation and let us know your thoughts! We'd love to hear your predictions and opinions on how these enhancements will shape the league.
